Bassist Mark Egan, drummer Karl Latham (Warwick resident) and John Hart will be performing September 18th at Shanghai Jazz in Madison, New Jersey and September 19th at the Long Beach Jazz Fest in Long Beach Long Island.Inline image 1

Unit1 is a powerhouse psychedelic electric trio noted for their deep grooves, exciting musical improvisations and extended jams.

Embracing jazz, rock, Brazilian, funk and world music sensibilities,  Unit 1 draws from a wide-ranging repertoire including; The Beatles, War, Neil Young, the Isley Brothers Wayne Shorter, Sonny Rollins and Thelonius Monk as well as original compositions.
They’re electrifying performances appeals to a multi-generation fan group of both Jam band and Jazz listeners, which allows them to headline both jazz venues and Jam band festival stages worldwide.

The Unit 1 trio is comprised of multi directional world-class musicians: Bassist Mark Egan, a multiple Grammy Award© artist who has recorded and toured with countless artists including; Sting, Arcadia, Pat Metheny, Roger Daltry, Gil Evans, Joan Osborne, Sophie B Hawkins, Pat Martino and David Sanborn.
Master drummer Karl Latham performs worldwide and was voted in the “Top 500 drummer Drummer World Poll”.  He has recorded and toured with numerous groups including; the Bernie Worrell Orchestra, Johnny Winter, Don Braden/Karl Latham Big Fun(K), The Fantasy Band and Bill Evans and Jazz Guitar giant John Hart has toured and recoded with Jimmy Smith, Jack McDuff, Jon Hendricks, Chris Potter and Randy Brecker and is current guitar department chair at the University of Miami.
